The wild and wooly New Belgium Brewing Co. bike festival and freak show known as Tour de Fat will be in Chicago to benefit West Town Bikes!
The makers of Fat Tire beer will be adding Chicago in the eighth year that the cycling circus is touring the western US. Festival goers often dress in costume and decorate their most fun bikes in an opening parade. There's musical and acrobatic entertainment featuring our good friends Mucca Pazza

Spring is here, learn the basics of how to keep your bike running smoothly for the new season! This workshop will cover the the names of parts of a bike, fix-a-flat, basic cable adjustments and more. This is a great way to learn about your bike and become familiar with West Town Bikes. Bring a bike to work on. No prior knowledge needed! First come first served with a comfortable work capacity of six participants.

Advanced Shop is for participants who are already familiar with West Town Bikes and would like to have access to the shop for independent advanced projects. This may be for projects such as converting a bike to a single speed, building a fixed gear, chasing/tapping/facing a frame (a must for installing Chris King components), or trouble shooting that bike project that you have been struggling with and need access to pro tools and facilities. Participants will have access to expert insight and limited availability to WTB's stock of parts (for an appropriate donation, of course).

Description:
This 6-week series will cover everything you need to know to keep your bike tuned up. You will learn to overhaul bottom brackets, headsets and hubs, true wheels, adjust brakes, replace brake pads and cables, and adjust shifters and derailleurs. West Town Bikes will provide the workstands and tools. Cables, housing, bearings and grerase will be provided. Participants must provide their own project bikes, and any other replacement parts needed, which should be purchased before-hand at your local bike shop.
