Work on your bike in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Participants share tips and an instructor will be there to help. The instructor's ability to assist you will be limited by time and the total number of participants. Come on out, fix your bike, get some grease on your hands, and ride off with a better bike and more know-how than you had when you arrived.

Notice! Participants should be comfortable and confident with the work that needs to be done to their bikes. If you aren't sure about the work that needs to be done and how to do it Open Shop may not be the best place or time for you and your bike. West Town Bikes offers several classes and workshops that can teach you how to fix your bike!

You must take your bicycle with you at the end of the workshop whatever its condition, so please keep in mind the total time required for your project before you begin. Tools and bike stands are provided. You may purchase cables, housing and bearings at West Town Bikes, but other parts are not stocked, so you should purchase any parts you plan to use before-hand at your local bike shop (see www.chicagobikeshops.info).
