West Town Bikes Shop PoliciesWhile at West Town Bikes please observe the following: Be Respectful of the space, staff, volunteers, participants, neighbors and community. Be Resourceful. Use as little of supplies that are needed, recycle as much as you can and waste as little as possible (including time and space). Be Responsible. Account for all tools and supplies at workstations during and after use. Notify instructor of any missing tools or supplies from workstation before use. Arrangements for replacement must be made immediately for any tools that are found damaged, broken or missing. Please clean and keep work areas orderly during and after use. Use only the tools at the station where you are working. Ask the instructor for use of tools needed other than those at workstations. Return tools immediately after use. Tools Do Not Leave the Shop. When working in the back yard use the assigned tools. Do Not take tools from work stations outside. Use of power tools should be approved by an instructor and generally used outside. No Storage is Available. You must take your bicycle, parts, project and any other personal property with you at the end of the event/workshop. Storage is only available for specific use and all storage must be OK’d by the shop manager. West Town Bikes is not responsible for any property left without an arrangement. Do not leave personal property around or unaccounted for at West Town Bikes. Lock bicycles when parked in the back yard. WTB is not responsible for lost or stolen property. No Bike Riding in the Shop. Do not block doorways, halls or throughways with bicycles, projects, persons or other objects while at West Town Bikes. Access to Maestro Matic space is strictly prohibited. Wear Appropriate Clothing. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty while working in the shop. Closed toe shoes are required while working in the shop and must be worn at all times. Open toe shoes, sandals or flip flops are not allowed. Wear safety gear when needed including safety eyewear when using power tools. Use of the West Town Bikes computer, stereo and other media equipment is under the descretion of the instructor. Please put CDs back in their cases when finished and close out web accounts and applications after using the computer. West Town Bikes is not responsible for open accounts or files left on the computer. West Town Bikes is only available during classes, workshops and events or by appointment only. Drop ins are not appreciated and unannounced visitors are not welcome during unscheduled time. Scheduling events at West Town Bikes must be arranged for through the shop manager. Generally there are No Sales at West Town Bikes. A small supply of basic materials (cables, housing and bearings) is available and sold on an as needed basis. Used parts are also sold on an as needed basis, meaning that any part that is sold must go onto a bike that is being worked on in the shop during a class or workshop. There are no sales of parts for collectors or projects that are being done outside of West Town Bikes. Please do not go through parts bins without instructor’s approval. Participants are encouraged to purchase parts and supplies at their local bike shop to use during events at WTB. All business transactions in the shop must go through West Town Bikes or done elsewhere (don’t sell your bike or parts at WTB without giving a cut). All food and packaging must be disposed of in the outside garbage when finished or taken with you upon leaving. Make A Contribution! A $10 donation is suggested for participating at an event at West Town Bikes unless otherwise noted. Contributions of other sorts are acceptable and should be arranged for with an instructor (volunteers, labor, bikes, parts, supplies and materials are always appreciated). Cotton T-shirts for rags are always needed. Talk with an instructor about volunteering and other ways you can get involved with West Town Bikes! |
